We are a small number indoor facility that establishes rules, boundaries, and structure within our pack. Our structured daycare is offered Monday through Friday from 6:30am-6pm. This is an amazing service to enroll your dog in as it will provide plenty of mental stimulation and physical exercise during the day while you work, run errands, or simply need a day off. We do not discriminate against any dog breed; however, each dog must go through a consultation prior to his or her first day of daycare. 

Your dog is required to go through 2 daycare evaluations prior to approval. Every daycare dog must be approved to be enrolled in our daycare by our head trainer. If they are not approved during the evaluation, they will be required to go through our K9 Day Camp program to properly introduce them to our pack and staff. Please understand that not every dog is the same. Some may require slower introductions than others. Once they get comfortable, they will be allowed to join our daycare pack. 

For nervous/anxious dogs, we provide a very slow integration process for your nervous pup. We will create a create a consistent routine for your pup and will continuously work with them until they become more comfortable being at our facility. 

Required vaccinations include Rabies, Distemper, and Kennel Cough (Bordatella) before arrival. 

FAQ

Q: "Is there an outdoor play area?" - No, we do not have an outdoor play area for daycare dogs.

Q: "Are you crate-free?" - No, we are not a crate free facility. We believe that crates provide safety to the dogs and allows them to properly decompress. 

Q: "How do you introduce new dogs to the pack?" - New dogs are introduced to a small pack number behind a fence, allowing us to observe and analyze their body language and behavior. From there, they will show us how comfortable or uncomfortable they are. That is where we start creating a game plan for their next steps. Some dogs might need more time, while others will be able to mingle instantly. We accommodate to what the dog shows us in the moment. 

Q: "What should I expect on their first days?" - Every dog joining our programs go through "first day jitters" and that is ok! It will take your dog time to adjust and transition to a new facility with new dogs and people they do not know. 

Whether you are going on vacation, have a last-minute emergency, or simply need a break, you can feel at ease knowing that your dog(s) are in the care of an experienced dog trainer. We take in dogs of any breed, size, and temperament.  We provide a stress-free & home-like environment for dogs so they can feel happy and safe. 

Scheduling Policy

If your boarding reservation starts and/or ends on a weekend (Saturday), only a 9am drop off/pick up appointment is available for that weekend day. If the weekend appointment does not work for you, then you will have to modify your reservation to either drop off a day earlier or extend a day later varying on your reservation dates. There is no boarding pick up/drop offs available on Sundays. 

The facility is closed on federal holidays as well which can sometimes land on a weekday. We still allow 9am appointments, however, the following are excluded: Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. This does not mean we are not boarding during these times. Instead, we are not allowing anyone to drop off/pick up, so that we are able to enjoy the holidays without disruption. 

During off hours, we are able to enjoy off time hiking in the woods, fenced in yard time, or adventuring new places with the dogs. 

If you need to alter or cancel your boarding reservation, you can do so through the client portal any time! 

Boarding Drop Off & Pick Up Policies

1. Drop off on Weekdays (Monday to Friday) - Permitted between 6:30am-1pm
2. Pick up on Weekdays (Monday to Friday) - Permitted between 9am-6pm
3. Saturdays - Permitted for 9am sharp (By appointment only)
4. Sundays - Drop off/Pick Up is NOT AVAILABLE
5. Weekday drop off/pick up can be subject to change IF the facility is closed (9am ONLY)

Holiday Rate Policy:

If the holiday day is part of your dog's reservation, then it will be considered holiday rate for the ENTIRE duration of the reservation. If the holiday day is NOT in your dog's boarding reservation, then it is considered regular boarding rate.

Closed Weekday Dates - Drop off/Pick Up is scheduled for 9am only. Please alter boarding reservations if needed. 

Boarding Price Rate & Policy

***Our boarding price policy is charged per calendar day, NOT per night***

What does "Per Calendar Day" mean? - The drop off day & pick up day gets charged at a full day rate regardless of arrival/departure time.

1 Dog- $80 per calendar day

2 Dog- $150 per calendar day

3 Dog- $210 per calendar day

Holiday Boarding Rate

1 Dog- $95 per calendar day

2 Dog- $180 per calendar day

3 Dog- $255 per calendar day

FAQ's

• "Where will my dogs be staying?" - Your dog(s) will be staying with an experienced trainer in their residential household. Dogs are NOT boarded at the facility. 

• "Do you have a fenced in yard?"- Some caretakers have fenced in yards while others might not. Please make sure to double check which sitter your dog is staying with to answer this question. 

• "How will my dogs be fed?" - Feeding instructions are kept the same based on their daily routine. All dogs eat separate from one another to ensure safety.

• "Can my dog receive their medication?" - Any medications can be distributed (please inform any and all medications prior to your dog's reservations). There is an additional medical fee if medication needs to be administered during their reservation. 

• "Do you board aggressive dogs?" - Yes. If a dog has any behavioral issues, please make sure to inform the trainer so they can address to your dog's needs safely and properly. We have safety protocols in place for dogs with behavioral issues and are excluded from daycare/play groups for safety measures. 

• "If my dog is aggressive with other dogs and cannot be in daycare, what will they be doing?" - Your dog will be segregated from other dogs; however, they will still receive attention and alternative exercise.

• "Where will my dog sleep?" - Dogs will undergo a crate training routine to ensure everyone's safety while unsupervised. Safety is always our top priority with everyone's dogs.

• "Does my dog have to sleep in a crate?"- All dogs are safely confined in crates during the night and during unsupervised time. This is a safety protocol that is strictly enforced to ensure every dog's safety while under our care. 

• "Do you provide training while they board?" - Due to multiple complicated training factors, we do not provide training during a regular boarding stay. If you wish to enroll your dog in a training program, our head trainer will be happy to speak with you about service logistics and explain how our programs work. 

• "What do I pack?" - You can pack their food, medication (if on any), chews/treats, and bed/blanket. 

• "What happens if there is an emergency or if my dog needs to go to vet due to XYZ?" - If any minor injuries occur that is not life threatening, we contact you first to give you an update. Varying on the condition, you can request that we bring the dog to your personal vet (as long as it's within distance). If a life-threatening emergency occurs, we hold the right as the dog's caretaker to act immediately and take them to the Emergency Vet. By enrolling in our services, you automatically give Canine Odyssey permission to admit your dog(s) to either a small clinic vet and/or emergency vet. 

• "Am I still responsible for the medical bill?" Yes. As the dog's sole owner, you are responsible for the dog, its actions, and medical expenses. 

• "Will I receive updates?" -  You can email for basic check ins as well. You can email (updates@canineodyssey.com) for more thorough updates. We DO NOT respond to any other communications platforms such as texting, Facebook messenger, Instagram, etc.
